| I had an enjoyable
trip, although short. I had the opportunity to see three soccer
matches, and returned on Tuesday, 29th, the day the GHS team
won the DaCosta Cup semi-final against Mannings.
I visited GHS on Thursday Nov 24th; my itinerary
included conducting devotion with the 6th forms (text was
Jeremiah 1 vs 1-10), having lunch with Mr Radcliffe and ten
(7 girls and 3 boys) of the students we provide funding for,
through the 'Needy Students Scholarship Programme'. I presented
the $2500 CDN(approx $131,000 JA) to two of the students,
They all were a bit shy at first, but loosened up, asked questions
and individually thanked us for our support. It was an awesome
feeling to meet, greet and encourage them.
We do have a precious school; so many past-students on staff,
as teachers, the joy to revisit and see the students at assembly,
at play, in-class or just milling around.
For those of us who remember Lorraine Prince; she is now Pastor
Lorraine Stennet. Her husband, Barrington, is also a past-student.
Pastor Stennet conducted the devotion on Monday, November
28th, for the whole school.
Remember the 50th in 2008. I have asked Mr
Radcliffe to provide information on the planning, for that
celebration. As mentioned in our last meeting, on November
16th, at Club Paradise, please make plans for a trip to attend
the 50th celebrations, in 2008. It would be truly dynamic,
if we could attend together, and spend a couple weeks.
